Summer is Here!

Summer time is finally here!

There are so many good things about summer, the beautiful scenery, the sports, the family time…etc.

This summer I am sailing all summer long! That is really exciting for me but sometimes I wish I could go camping or to marine land, I miss the other summer fun sometimes.

Sailing is a lot like camping in a sense. You are careful in what you pack making sure you have everything you need clothing wise (lots of layers), with food, and sleeping bags. You have to find your sea legs you eventually find them!

Now that I think about it more there are many similarities in with both of them. You are out in the sun and rain whatever the weather is, you are always learning, and most of all having fun.

Dance

I love dancing, and I miss it so much!

My personal feeling about dancing is it’s your own way of expressing yourself.  It is an art, beautiful, unique, and you.

I took dance lessons for 10 years. My first year of dance I took ballet. I was to young to realize I should have stayed with it but I only took the 1-year of ballet. I wish now that I stuck with it. Ballet is such a beautiful dance.

The next 9 years of dance lessons I took tap. I fell in love with tap dance since day one. Tap is more upbeat then ballet but it does have its slow graceful dances like a tap waltz.

The dance company I took dance lessons from would bring people over from Britain to test us on our dances and theory work. The highest mark you can get in this is honors.

Other types of dances out there are lyrical dance, jazz, hip-hop …etc. and that is only the beginning.

So many shoes for so many unique dances!

Clubfoot

Do you know what a clubfoot is?

A family member of mine has a clubfoot. The medical description of a clubfoot is Clubfoot is a condition in which one or both feet are twisted into an abnormal position at birth. The condition is also known as talipes or talipes equinovarus.  (you can find other definitions at http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/clubfoot ).

There are different levels of severity a clubfoot or clubfeet.

Minor clubfoot:

Severe clubfoot:

My family member happens to have a severe clubfoot. She was put in a cast the day she was born. When she was 6 weeks old she had her first surgery. In total, to this day she has had 8 surgeries.

In a lot of ways I feel really bad for her but I have to remember that there are people out there that have it worse then her. She is always has an optimistic attitude and that’s what I admire her for.
