Clubfoot

Do you know what a clubfoot is?

A family member of mine has a clubfoot. The medical description of a clubfoot is Clubfoot is a condition in which one or both feet are twisted into an abnormal position at birth. The condition is also known as talipes or talipes equinovarus.  (you can find other definitions at http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/clubfoot ).

There are different levels of severity a clubfoot or clubfeet.

Minor clubfoot:

Severe clubfoot:

My family member happens to have a severe clubfoot. She was put in a cast the day she was born. When she was 6 weeks old she had her first surgery. In total, to this day she has had 8 surgeries.

In a lot of ways I feel really bad for her but I have to remember that there are people out there that have it worse then her. She is always has an optimistic attitude and that’s what I admire her for.
